Rubbish

Postby paint my ride on Fri Jan 05, 2007 5:33 pm

The Berlin city council’s sanitation
department has launched a new weapon in the battle against street litter: a
trash can that thanks passers-by for depositing refuse in it. This year the
first talking rubbish bins will make their debut in the busiest sections of
the German capital. The containers, which are powered by solar cells and
express their thanks in German, English and French, can also deliver their
message in song. In The Week in Germany (November 26, 2003) the sanitation
department says that it wants to encourage people to drop waste in the bins
instead of the street in a “pleasant and amusing way.”

If we could a proper drawing done that was
checked by a structural know how I guess they would look at it
favourably, though how long it would last is anyones guess, timber structures
have a habit of burning down. They have okayed it at Cwmcarn and Afan so a
precedent has been set for timber structures on FC land.Certainly theres
enough timber there for the main body, just need a chainsaw, some big bolts
and some planking I suppose. If it was okayed in principle it would be an
idea to talk to some builders like the guy form AC or Esher before we start
building.
